In the 8th annual Social Media Marketing Industry Report author Michael Stelzner stated 60% of social marketers used video content in 2015 and 73% of respondents planned to use it in 2016. And they did!Social networks have increasingly encouraged consumers and businesses to publish video content by rolling out a number of new features on their websites and mobile apps. For example Facebook launched 360 Video, Live Video and Lifestage, Instagram added 60-second videos and Instagram Stories, while Twitter acquired video streaming service Periscope. And that’s without even considering YouTube, which is the second most popular social network in the world!!
That said, it’s critical we remember that social videos and social media marketing are all about peoples emotions, not necessarily facts. 76% of users say they would share a branded video with friends if it was entertaining. Creating fun, engaging and entertaining videos will encourage social shares which will result in a higher rank and more visitor traffic to your website.
